Reporting to: Sr. Project Manager, Project Director or Account Director

Location: Remote, US

 

Role Overview

A successful Project Manager is directly responsible for developing and driving the team’s project plans for a portfolio of medical education projects, working directly with project coordinators and Project/Account Directors. They take an active role from project inception through completion, providing accurate and proactive support for all project-related activities and deliverables, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, staff, suppliers, clients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and other groups associated with overall project delivery. They assist in leading the development, execution, and delivery of all projects for the accounts they support.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee 7–10 concurrent projects, depending on scope
  • Assume responsibility for the overall scope of each project; develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in conjunction with the coordinator, and drive projects to timely, quality delivery
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively address them with the Project or Account Director to ensure complete client satisfaction
  • Work with account management, project team, scientific team, vendors, and editorial teams to coordinate resources and ensure appropriate support and communication, including but not limited to:
    • Assisting in the creation of long- and short-term plans, setting milestone targets, and adhering to deadlines
    • Ensuring project tasks are completed on time and successfully by team members as assigned, and delegating to those best positioned to complete them
    • Serving as point of contact across teams when shared services are in play, keeping actions in synergy
    • Developing and maintaining status reports for internal and client use
    • Ensuring quality control of the project throughout development to execution, maintaining expected standards
    • Adjusting schedules and targets as project needs or financing change
    • Fostering integration, collaboration, and teamwork among team members
    • Deploying OPEN Health resources to best balance the organization’s overall business objectives
    • Consistently identifying connections across projects/deliverables and recommending efficiencies and improvements
  • Ensure delivery of each project relative to budget and overall account profitability; independently reconcile projects in a timely manner, help facilitate financial reporting to clients, and oversee and quality-check all financial tracking completed by the coordinator
  • May support the account/project team in developing budgets to implement creative educational programs
  • Partner with the Project/Account Director on hiring, and on training and developing coordinators on a routine basis
  • Take on other duties as assigned in support of the organization — which may include literature searches, meeting agenda development, and review of meeting recaps

 

 


Candidate Profile – (Skills, Competencies and Experience)

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3–4 years of experience in professional education project types, with comprehensive knowledge of professional education project types
  • Proficient software and computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
  • Adept problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Detail-oriented, articulate, creative, and optimistic, and works easily with a variety of personalities and styles
  • Understanding of FDA, AMA, and PhRMA Guidelines and State Regulations as they apply to medical communication projects

 

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel and meet with clients as required
  • This is a full-time position with the potential for up to 10% travel
