Job Summary

Our Payroll, Benefits & LOA Analysts play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant delivery of payroll, benefits administration, and leave management for a multistate workforce. In this role, you will support biweekly payroll processing, benefit enrollments and reconciliations, leave case tracking, and employee inquiries. You’ll also collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate data management and a positive employee experience. This position is well suited to individuals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting end-to-end payroll processing across a multistate workforce, including maintaining accurate employee records, resolving inquiries, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Managing employee benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, open enrollment activities, and reconciling deductions with vendor invoices
  • Administering leave of absence cases with accuracy and empathy, partnering with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure compliance, timely communication, and accurate payroll adjustments
  • Assisting with tax setup and compliance with new state and local jurisdictions, maintaining accurate system configurations, and responding to tax notices in collaboration with external partners
  • Supporting internal and external audits by preparing required documentation, maintaining records, and ensuring timely responses to auditor and stakeholder requests
  • Collaborating with internal teams and vendors to improve processes, support operational efficiency, and participate in special projects and system enhancements
  • Providing cross-functional support and team coverage through knowledge sharing, peer training, and flexibility to meet evolving business needs in a remote work environment

 

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred (Will consider years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 2–4 years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR operations
  • Experience managing multistate payroll, including setup, compliance, and reporting
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity and SuccessFactors
  • Experience in leave administration including FMLA, PFML, ADA, and related policies
  • Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Must be located in the Eastern or Central time zone
