Job Summary

The Medical Director/Senior Medical Director provides medical leadership, strategic insight, and high-quality medical oversight across assigned client brands and accounts. This role partners closely with cross-functional colleagues to deliver Promo Med Ed solutions aligned with client objectives, ensuring scientific rigor, strategic alignment, and operational excellence. The position also contributes to team development, resource planning, and client partnership growth

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day medical leadership, medical direction, and quality oversight across assigned brands and project deliverables
  • Serve as a strategic medical partner to clients, helping shape medical communication plans aligned with brand strategy and scientific objectives
  • Review and ensure accuracy, medical/scientific integrity, and compliance of promotional and medical education materials
  • Oversee development and delivery of high-quality content including slide decks, training materials, digital tools, advisory content, and strategic recommendations
  • Support account teams in understanding clinical landscapes, therapeutic areas, clinical data, and competitive intelligence
  • Contribute to brand planning, content strategy, and tactical execution for client accounts
  • Drive organic growth through proactive, insight-led recommendations on brand strategy and evolving HCP needs
  • Participate in new business opportunities, including RFP responses, pitches, and scientific pull-through
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of client brands, therapeutic areas, and evolving scientific trends
  • Support resource planning including project assignments, timelines, and workload distribution
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and development to Associate/Junior Medical Directors and Scientific Managers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Services, Strategy, Creative, and Editorial to ensure seamless delivery
  • Serve as an escalation point for medical or client-related concerns
  • Model and reinforce a positive, collaborative culture within the medical team

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific/medical roles within Promo Med Ed (Medical Director) or 6+ years for Senior Medical Director
  • Doctoral-level degree preferred (PhD, MD, PharmD) with strong medical/scientific expertise and ability to interpret complex clinical data
  • Demonstrated experience providing medical leadership across multiple brands and therapeutic areas
  • Proven ability to communicate complex science clearly and strategically, aligned with brand objectives
  • Strong client-facing skills with ability to build trust, advise on strategy, and communicate recommendations
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and supporting team-wide development
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance workload, and maintain high-quality standards
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for promotional medical communications
  • Proficient in MS365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25% potential travel, depending on client needs
