Job Summary

 

The Manager, People Team, is responsible for overseeing and implementing essential people initiatives, as well as providing daily support to managers in addressing their personnel matters.  The role is responsible for driving a positive, high-performance culture for their designated employee group. This role partners closely with managers and employees to ensure People policies, processes, and practices are aligned with organisational goals while creating an engaging and inclusive working environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Policy Implementation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Maintain and update people policies in line with employment legislation.
  • Advise managers and employees on People policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Manage employee relations cases, including performance, sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance and redundancy
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of all employee relations matters
  • Implement and localize global People policies in line with country specific requirements
  • Provide training for new and updated policies within country
  • Support exit processes including redundancy

 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all local labor laws and regulations
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of state and country specific employment legislation
  • Partner with legal and People leadership to mitigate risk and ensure governance
  • Support audits, documentation, and reporting requirements
  • Ensure country orbit pages are up to date and correct
  • Ensure country pages on Orbit are up to date and act as contact for mangers

 

Manager Support and Capability Building

  • Coach and support managers on:
    • Employee relations
    • Performance management
    • Team effectiveness
  • Conduct regular 121's with people leaders - at least quarterly to understand their people issues and support where appropriate
  • Ensure the successful implementation of the employee lifecycle processes within the business to ensure employee and manager engagement
  • Identify training needs and help coordinate learning activities and development programmes.
  • Deliver training and guidance for all managers to deliver confident and capable managers and leaders
  • In partnership with Ops drive the country Orbit page as a 1st line resource for employees and managers

 

Recruitment & workforce planning

  • Support employer branding initiatives across the business
  • Partner with Operations on recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding oversight

 

Engagement Retention & Employee Experience

  • Own and drive country-level engagement strategies ensuring that the following are taking place across the country:
    • 90 day check ins
    • Exit interviews
    • Pulse surveys
  • Carry out exit interviews for all leavers with the exception of exec and Exec -1
  • Be the voice of local culture and population considerations.
  • Partner with Operations on all employee lifecycle processes
  • Support and implement local engagement and retention initiatives such as roll out of staff survey, EDI initiatives that improve employee engagement
  • Support action planning based on engagement data at a country level
  • Conduct regular check-ins with country-based managers to assess team health

 

Reporting & Data Insights

  • Provide accurate and timely People reporting to regional managers
  • Track key metrics such as attrition, engagement and employee relations trends
  • Support data driven decision making through People insights and analysis

 

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or a related field required
  • Strong experience in People operations, employee relations, and compliance
  • Solid knowledge of local labor laws and employment practices
  • Experience managing employee life cycle processes end to end
  • Ability to balance employee advocacy and business needs
  • Strong organizational and execution skills
  • Effective communicator with ability to influence at manager level
  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization preferred
