Role Overview
The Global Events & Communications Manager will support the planning and delivery of OPEN Health’s external congresses, internal events, and related Brand & Communications activities. This role will help ensure events are well organized, professionally delivered, and aligned to OPEN Health’s brand, business priorities, and stakeholder needs.
Working within the Brand & Communications team, the role will manage event plans, timelines, logistics, suppliers, and onsite delivery to create consistent, high-quality experiences for colleagues, clients, and external audiences. The role will work closely with internal teams to coordinate requirements, support engagement activity, and ensure that each event is delivered smoothly and to a high standard.
The Global Events & Communications Manager will also provide practical operational support across selected Brand & Communications projects, including budget tracking, purchase order management, vendor coordination, and post-event reporting. This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone who is highly organized, collaborative, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Own end-to-end delivery of external and internal events, ensuring seamless execution across all logistics
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and run-of-show documentation
- Lead vendor selection, negotiation, and management to deliver best-in-class experiences
- Oversee onsite execution, troubleshooting in real time to ensure flawless delivery
BrandComms Workstreams & Campaign Support
- Translate campaign objectives into clear delivery plans, timelines, and execution frameworks
- Partner with BrandComms colleagues to ensure seamless integration of events within broader campaigns and communications activity
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of high-impact internal and external moments that drive visibility and engagement
- Act as a central partner to practices, commercial teams, and leadership for event and campaign planning
Financial Management & Operational Support
- Own and manage event budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation
- Raise and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- Partner with Finance to ensure strong financial governance and reporting across BrandComms activities
- Support budget visibility and discipline across the team, identifying efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Identify opportunities to integrate digital tools and AI-enabled solutions to improve planning, delivery, and experience
- Post-event reporting to demonstrate ROI and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile – (Skills, Competencies and Experience)
- Strong expertise managing end-to-end logistics for large-scale global congresses (1000+ attendees) and executive-level internal meetings
- 10+ years’ industry experience in meeting planning and internal corporate event management
- Strong understanding of how events and activations drive brand visibility, engagement, and commercial outcomes
- Deep expertise in end-to-end event planning and delivery across complex, global environments
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver at pace
- Experience with event and meeting technologies (Cvent preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality execution
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across a global, matrixed organization
- Confident working with senior stakeholders, including C-suite, with strong communication and influencing skills
- Proven ability to lead problem-solving initiatives and navigate complexity in real time
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach
- Strong budget ownership and vendor management expertise, including negotiation and cost optimization
- Experience managing purchase orders (POs), financial tracking, and reconciliation processes
- Strong compliance mindset with a focus on industry guidelines, transparency, and risk management
- Ability to evaluate performance and demonstrate ROI across events and programs
- Experience operating within a global marketing, communications, or BrandComms function
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or complex professional services environments
- Familiarity with digital, hybrid, and virtual event platforms (eg Cvent)
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to ~30%)
