Group Management Accountant
Reports to Head of Group Finance Shared Services
Team Responsibility: Junior Management Accountants
Location: UK – work from home, willingness to meet in London intermittently
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Group Management Accountant to join our finance team. This key role will support the consolidation and reporting of financial information across the group, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of management accounts, analysis, and insight to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience in a multi-entity or group structure environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations across the general ledger
- Provide analysis of P&L movement and variance analysis
- Complete monthly accounting bookings for all payroll related activity across the Group
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Provide insightful variance analysis and commentary on financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Collaborate with business unit finance teams to ensure accurate data collection and consistency of reporting.
- Drive improvements in management reporting processes, controls, and systems.
- Support year-end and audit processes, including preparation of audit packs and liaison with auditors.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of group KPIs and financial dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP as applicable).
- Participate in finance transformation projects and systems implementations, where relevant.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to senior management and the wider finance team
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a similar role within a group or multi-entity environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP or similar).
- Exposure to international operations and foreign currency transactions.
