Director, Patient Experience Innovation

Location: Remote US

Job Summary

The Director, Patient Experience Innovation plays a pivotal role in the development, marketing and deployment of core service offerings within OPEN Health’s Patient Engagement Group. This individual will work with account, strategy, and creative teams to identify targeted patient segments and channels for direct to consumer campaigns designed to capture and communicate authentic patient experiences.

In addition, while the majority of the role will be client facing delivery, this individual will also engage directly with patient organizations and consumer marketers within industry to showcase OPEN Health’s commitment to the patient voice and community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

~75% of Job Duties

  • Direct responsibility for developing solution options and bridging the gap between strategy and execution around key patient experience elements in client disease areas and products of interest.
  • Team leadership of bespoke patient projects e.g. disease state awareness campaigns, patient to patient content initiatives, patient journey mapping, Patient Support Programs (PSP), design and co-creation of patient materials, advocacy engagement
  • Contribute to and, where appropriate, lead, pitches
  • Manage and influence senior-level client contacts and maintain positive working relationships; work proactively to identify new business opportunities by networking and researching within existing client companies
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of clients’ business objectives, patient-related strategies and relevant therapeutic areas. Provide clear communication briefings of these to internal team members, as relevant
  • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with appropriate members of the OPEN Health teams across all practices

~25% of Job Duties

  • Act as liaison between OPEN Health and external patient organizations, showcasing and highlighting OPEN Health’s commitment to patients and our differentiated emphasis on authentic, empathetic engagement to elevate the awareness of patient experience
  • Engage with consumer marketing teams and forums within the pharmaceutical industry to drive awareness of OPEN Health core offerings and drive incoming Requests for Proposal

 

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification is required, ideally in a life sciences-related field.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and, ideally, the patient space, gained through significant experience in healthcare agency, consultancy, CRO, or pharmaceutical company roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex information and produce simple, compelling solutions
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise; strong time and project management skills
  • Ability to work with client and agency staff on a day-to-day project management basis, both independently and as part of a team
  • Approachable, hands-on manager, trainer, and delegator with strong leadership skills
  • Financial acumen and attention to detail
  • Able to create relationships with colleagues in other practices across OPEN Health
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office programs: Excel, Word, and Outlook
