Client Growth Lead
Reports to EVP Growth Strategy / COE Executive Leadership
Job Summary
As a Client Growth Lead, you will play a pivotal role in building client engagement and fostering long-term partnerships. You will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring client satisfaction. The Client Growth Lead role is focused on identification/conversion of new business (50%) and retention/organic growth of existing core clients (50%). With their understanding of client needs, service area expertise, ability to establish client relationships, and business development prowess, the Client Growth Lead plays a critical role in the growth of the COE.
The Client Growth Lead also has the skills and experience necessary to build senior client partnerships and sell OPEN Health’s offering confidently and passionately. They also promote and stand behind OPEN Health’s values, inspiring colleagues from across the COE and the wider organization to unite to drive growth and success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and target potential clients, developing tailored outreach strategies to secure new business opportunities
- Establish and continually expand own client network to drive new business leads and opportunities, nurturing these relationships through consultancy-based conversations to drive new opportunities
- Partner with client teams to support organic outreach initiatives to existing and potential clients to drive leads and opportunities; join them for client conversations to drive a consultancy-based sell
- Hold accountability for the new business pipeline, ensuring CRM tracking, and that every lead and opportunity is effectively nurtured, triaged, and executed
- Working closely with client teams and other new business functions, lead conversion of new business opportunities through clearly defined briefing, direct input to proposal development and participation in pitch meeting
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations with confidence and professionalism
- Drive collaboration within Med Comms (Minerva) and the wider business to maximize business growth
- Identify and execute activities that drive consistency and excellence in delivery across teams working on key client accounts.
- Continually monitor progress of collaborative work and define/implement best practice to optimize efficiencies, encourage cross-sell and support cross-COE working
- Attend relevant conferences in therapeutic or business areas and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Graduate in life sciences (ideally biomedical), higher degree preferred
- Solid active work experience, experience in a medical communications agency or equivalent role essential
- Proven business development results with demonstrated success in new business conversion Passion for business growth and a results driven mindset
- Excellent communication skills (both internally and externally) and a proven record of building client rapport
- Proven ability to collaborate, internally: across their own BU, Division, Minerva and OPEN Health and externally with clients. Demonstrated experience in cross-sell and cross-COE working
- Solid understanding of the healthcare landscape and pharmaceutical industry and the ability to anticipate future trends
- A flexible, initiative-taking approach with the ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change, work under pressure and to tight deadlines
