Job Description:

Business Development Representative (BDR), Outbound Growth

Location: Remote | US or Canada

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven Business Development Representative (BDR), Outbound Growth to help generate new client relationships and qualified pipeline for OPEN Health’s Stakeholder Intelligence & Analytics business.

This is a true sales and business development opportunity for someone who enjoys opening doors, starting conversations, and turning targeted outreach into meaningful business opportunities.

You’ll research priority biopharma accounts, identify key decision-makers, and create personalized outreach across email, LinkedIn, and phone. You’ll also support business development around major medical congresses, helping turn key industry events into new client conversations.

Working closely with senior business leaders, you’ll gain exposure to strategic account development, meeting preparation, and discovery conversations while learning how new relationships develop into business.

For someone who is commercially driven, eager to sell, and ready to grow, this is an opportunity to build your career while making a measurable impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Research priority biopharma accounts, brands, therapeutic areas, and key stakeholders across commercial, marketing, insights, medical affairs, and market access.
  • Build targeted outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, and phone to generate qualified new client meetings.
  • Personalize outreach based on account priorities, pipeline activity, launch timing, therapeutic areas, and stakeholder needs.
  • Support business development around major medical congresses, including prospect research, pre-congress outreach, meeting generation, and follow-up.
  • Book qualified meetings for senior OPEN Health leaders and provide clear handoffs and meeting briefs to prepare teams for client conversations.
  • Use Salesforce and Apollo to manage prospecting activity, track engagement, maintain accurate records, and measure meetings and pipeline generated.
  • Test messaging, subject lines, channels, and timing to continuously improve outreach performance.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to enhance research, targeting, personalization, and outreach while keeping communication authentic.
  • Share market feedback, prospect interests, objections, and opportunities to help strengthen future campaigns.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, lead generation, or another sales-focused role, typically around 1–2+ years.
  • A genuine passion for sales, prospecting, and developing new business
  • Experience conducting outbound outreach through email, LinkedIn, phone, or multiple channels.
  • Comfort working toward measurable goals such as meetings booked, engagement, qualified opportunities, or pipeline generated.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create concise, personalized outreach.
  • CRM experience, ideally Salesforce, and comfort maintaining accurate account and contact information.
  • Experience with Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar prospecting tools is a plus.
  • Curiosity about biopharma, healthcare, science, and therapeutic areas, with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Resilience, organization, initiative, and the drive to keep going when the first outreach doesn’t land.
  • An interest in using AI and new technology to make prospecting smarter and more effective.

Agency experience is not required. Internship or professional experience with a healthcare agency, pharmaceutical company, biotechnology organization, or other life sciences business is valuable, but we’re equally interested in strong transferable sales experience, commercial drive, and the ability to learn.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to build more than a pipeline. It’s an opportunity to build your sales career.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across the business development process while working with senior leaders and sophisticated biopharma accounts. You’ll learn how to research and develop accounts, engage senior stakeholders, prepare for client conversations, and use data to continually improve your approach.

This role is designed with growth in mind, while still offering room for someone with additional relevant sales or business development experience to bring their expertise and make an immediate impact.

If you’re energized by the challenge of winning new business, motivated by measurable results, and ready to grow your career in life sciences, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring the drive. Build the relationships. Grow your career.
