Associate Medical Director – Promo Med Ed

Our global team of experts — many with PhD and PharmD degrees — work strategically alongside our client partners in Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Access, and Commercial teams across a wide range of therapy areas.

  • Have a strong scientific background and are passionate about medical communications 
  • Would like to learn about new therapy areas and can critically appraise published information to strengthen your understanding 
  • Welcome working closely with medical directors and medical writers to ensure on-target communication and clinical accuracy 
  • Enjoy building relationships with clinical and research executives in the pharmaceutical industry as well as academic opinion leaders 
  • Have strong medical writing skills or would like to improve your medical reviewer skills 
  • Enjoy developing technically high-level projects including slide presentations, web-based and social media materials, executive meeting minutes, peer-reviewed publications, monographs, and other materials requiring sound clinical judgment and excellent writing skills 
  • Have a high attention to detail to ensure that quality outputs are delivered to clients 
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive and dynamic team 

As part of the Medical team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities: 

  • Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Communicating complex scientific ideas in an accurate and innovative way 
  • Working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality work 
  • Quickly and thoroughly understanding any pharmaceutical product, particularly as it relates to the overall therapeutic area 
  • Demonstrating knowledge of product positioning and messaging within the competitive space and scientific and/or educational tactics 
  • Directing and reviewing content created by others (medical writers, medical associates, graphic designers) to ensure quality, accuracy, and strategic alignment across all projects 
  • Learning new skills and therapy areas 
  • Demonstrating proficiency in medical writing 
  • Following SOPs 

What you’ll bring: 

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD degree 
  • 1+ years of pharmaceutical and/or medical communications experience 
  • Expertise in critical data analysis and interpretation 
  • Strong organization and project management capabilities 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team structure 
  • High level of comfort working with clients and faculty 
  • Aptitude for the English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to perform all duties on-line, as OPEN Health is a paperless company 
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to problem solve and set clear expectations 
  • Proficiency in Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
